Light of Life Ministries is a leading non-profit in Pittsburgh. We seek guest services team members that are outgoing, empathetic, and persuasive. Specifically, we're recruiting a Part-Time Care Support Specialist for our Women's Shelter. These individuals will work with people in varied circumstances related to homelessness, recovery, and mental illness. Light of Life is committed to building a staff community that reflects the diversity of His creation. ~ Jerrel Gilliam, Executive DirectorResponsibilities include:Assist in the daily operations of our Women's Emergency Shelter, Meal Ministry, as well as other associated outreach functions.Direct clients and guests to services during their visits to the shelter.Monitor the building and its residents.Aid in transporting clients or making arrangements for their transport.Data entry of notes and statistics into a computer system.Due to the interface with the clients, Light of Life considers every position to be essential in the fulfillment of our ministry and as such, requires employees to: Participate in the ministry of Light of Life Rescue Mission and walk alongside clients sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ through actions and words.Resolve all issues in ways that promote the principles of Light of Life.Practice effective stewardship of all resources.Subscribe to and embrace Light of Life's Statement of Faith, Values, and Principles.Skills and Qualifications:Strong interpersonal skills, adept at building relationships with diverse groups of clients and volunteersMust be able to handle crisis and unexpected situations with calm and clear thinkingMust model personal responsibility, accountability, timely reporting, and a self-evaluative lifestylePA Driver's License with clean driving record requiredComputer literateEducation/Experience:High school diploma or GEDKnowledge of drug & alcohol recovery and mental illness preferred Light of Life offers a comprehensive benefits package including: Medical, Dental, Vision, and other benefits, which begin the 1st of the month following employment.
