Mechanical Engineer - Plumbing & Fire Protection (Greater Syracuse-Auburn Area)

We're conducting a search on behalf of a well-established MEP consulting firm in Syracuse with a deep, stable book of higher education and institutional work across Central New York. This is a firm with long-term client relationships, a full project pipeline, and a team small enough that your contributions are visible and your growth is real.

They're looking to add a Plumbing & Fire Protection Engineer who wants more than a drafting seat. Someone ready to take ownership of projects, engage directly with clients, and be a meaningful part of how work gets done.

What You'll Be Doing

• Designing plumbing and/or fire protection systems for higher education and institutional projects
• Developing calculations, layouts, and construction documents in AutoCAD and/or Revit
• Coordinating with internal MEP disciplines, architects, and external project stakeholders
• Participating in client meetings and site visits as a technical contributor
• Taking on increasing project responsibility as your role matures

What We're Looking For

• 3–8+ years of experience in plumbing and/or fire protection design
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• PE license required, or EIT actively working toward licensure
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit
• Strong communication skills, comfortable working with clients and cross-functional teams
• Project management experience is a bonus, not a requirement
