Behavioral Health Clinician I

BEHAVIORAL HEALTH CLINICIAN I (Formerly Clinical Social Worker/Marriage Family Therapist I) We are looking for a motivated and compassionate behavioral health clinician to provide professional counseling and treatment services for adults, children, and youth exhibiting a wide variety of mental health, drug abuse, and/or alcohol‑related disorders in a clinic, home, field, or institutional setting. Night, weekend, and holiday shifts may be required. Responsibilities Provide individual and group interventions, including psycho‑educational groups, parent training, brief counseling, case management, and referral to community services using evidence‑based practices. Screen participants for program eligibility and conduct individual and family needs assessments. Prepare written materials and present information professionally to represent the Health Care Agency positively. Collect demographic and outcomes data to measure program impact and changes in behavioral health. Participate in ongoing program development and implementation, completing projects as needed. Provide field‑based services to engage participants in treatment and help them find meaningful roles and activities in the community. Follow ethical and practice guidelines as outlined by the Board of Behavioral Science. May participate in research projects, service oversight of contract providers, crisis intervention, and involuntary hold evaluations depending on division requirements. Desirable Qualifications Sound judgment, good decision‑making, problem‑solving skills, independence, reliability, proactive engagement, confidence, and optimism. Bilingual skills, especially Spanish or Vietnamese, are highly desirable. Required Minimum Qualifications Valid Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW), Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC), or Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) number issued by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS). Proof of certificate application may be provided if not yet issued. Understanding of HIPAA and evidence‑based practices in behavioral health settings. Experience with crisis interventions, recovery principles, and integrated care collaboration. Proficiency with EHR, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
