Store Manager in Training

Role Overview The Store Manager In Training (SMIT) is a development‑focused role designed to prepare candidates for a CVS Store Manager position through a 16‑week program combining virtual and hands‑on learning. The program is supported by a District Leader, HR Business Partner, Training Store Manager, and a Store Manager coach. Responsibilities Communicate effectively verbally and in writing to support and lead the team. Perform customer care duties to provide high levels of service. Execute merchandising strategies to support store sales growth. Manage store inventory and assets to maintain profitability. Actively engage with leaders in key learning experiences and support the store as a management team member. Lead in a manner consistent with CVS values and policies, and engage colleagues in the company’s purpose. Qualifications High school diploma or GED (required). Bachelor’s degree preferred or relevant work experience may be considered. Retail management experience or experience as a CVS supervisor. Willingness to accept a promotion to Store Manager at any location within the designated market. Ability to transfer to other CVS Pharmacy stores in the market and work a variable schedule based on business needs. Compensation and Benefits Typical hourly rate: $18.50 – $26.25. Full‑time benefits include medical, dental, vision coverage, paid time off, retirement savings options, wellness programs, and other resources based on eligibility.
