Every challenge has pushed me to grow, not just as an engineer, but as a person—and I've learned so much from the incredible team around me." — Taylor Strack, Senior EngineerPrimary ResponsibilitiesDevelop geotechnical recommendations, plans, and technical specifications for design and construction of private and public projects.Perform geotechnical analysis and design of shallow and deep foundation systems, ground improvement systems, earth-retaining structures, slopes, landslide mitigation solutions, and more.Assess static and dynamic slope stability, ground settlement and deformation, and soil liquefaction using various geotechnical software applications.Perform static and dynamic numerical modeling using finite-element and finite-difference methods as implemented in PLAXIS, FLAC, and other software applications.Perform site-specific seismic-hazard and ground-response analyses.Assist with the planning and execution of field investigations including logging borings and test pits, collecting samples, performing field tests, and observing and assisting with cone penetration and geophysical testing.Develop laboratory testing plans, review laboratory test results, and develop representative soil properties for geotechnical analyses and design.Prepare detailed geotechnical reports, letters, plans, and other documents.Observe construction of foundations, ground improvement, shoring, grading operations, and other geotechnical construction.Complete other field, analytical, and project administrative tasks with direction and support from peers and leadership.Learn increasingly more complex, non-routine tasks with review and oversight from senior staff.Support Global projects: Collaborate on and potentially travel to project sites across our international footprint, including Guam, New Zealand, and Australia, to provide on-site engineering support and field investigations.RequirementsOur Ideal Candidate1-3 years-professional/relevant internship/field experienceE.I.TSound knowledge of civil engineering fundamentals and soil mechanicsA team player who enjoys problem-solving and fast-paced environmentsHas an entrepreneurial spirit and a positive attitudeDesire to continually learn and growExceptional communication and interpersonal skillsDriven to go above and beyond in client serviceAll Candidate RequirementsEducation: Bachelor's Degree – Required (M.S. degree or Ph.D. in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering - Preferred)Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Products.
