Full Time RN Pre Op PACU FT Mountain View Surgery Center at Gilbert is hiring a Registered Nurse PreOp/PACU and will train for the OR. This fast paced ASC environment is committed to producing the highest quality work and experience for patients and their families. Job Summary Under the general supervision of the Clinical Director and Clinical Manager, this position provides nursing care to ensure the safety of the patient during their procedure in the surgical suite or procedure room. The role also accompanies and monitors the patient as he or she transfers from PreOP to OR to PACU. Responsibilities Direct and assist in carrying out safe aseptic techniques and procedures Supervise and direct the activities of surgical technician and supporting personnel as necessary Perform assessments of patients for specific nursing care needs Check room for needed supplies and prepare room for specific patient and procedure Assist in transporting patients to operating room/procedure room and check patient record for appropriate pre-op preparation and procedures (i.e. lab, x-ray, appropriate permits) Perform clean up following procedures, as well as general housekeeping duties Set up operating room/procedure room with all necessary equipment and supplies Participate in on-going committees and other educational programs to enhance patient care Review physicians’ preference cards and update as needed Perform sponge, needle, and instrument counts and documentation of same as applicable Maintain sterile field throughout the surgical procedure Have general familiarity with medical terminology as it pertains to anatomy and surgical procedures for an operating room Strong communication skills and ability to promote departmental relationships to ensure continuity of care Handle instruments correctly and check for cleanliness and proper working condition Function efficiently as a member of surgical/procedural team Qualifications Must be a Registered Nurse with an unrestricted license in the state Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing Must have 1-3 years of previous experience in PreOp/PACU or Critical Care; previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center strongly preferred Must have current BLS, ALS and PALS Must possess a strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient Understanding of aseptic techniques and their implementation Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed Benefits Medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance Paid time off (vacation & sick leave) 401k retirement plan Paid holidays Health savings accounts, healthcare & dependent flexible spending accounts Employee Assistance Program, Employee discount program Voluntary benefits include pet insurance, legal insurance, accident and critical illness insurance, long-term care, elder & childcare, AD&D, auto & home insurance #J-18808-Ljbffr
