Cardiac Catheterization Technologist (Contract Position)

Schedule

Monday through Friday, variable hours based on procedural volume and department needs. No call requirements.

Job Description

Join our Cardiac Cath Lab team as a Cardiac Catheterization Technologist, where you will support our growing cardiovascular services in a collaborative and patient-focused environment. Your role involves assisting physicians in diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures while maintaining high standards of patient care and safety.

Responsibilities

• Prepare procedure rooms, equipment, and supplies for cardiac catheterization procedures.
• Assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures.
• Operate fluoroscopy and hemodynamic monitoring equipment.
• Maintain sterile technique and ensure compliance with infection prevention standards.
• Monitor patient status and communicate changes to the clinical team.
• Document procedural information accurately and completely.
• Assist with patient transport, positioning, and post-procedure care as needed.
• Participate in quality and patient safety initiatives.
• Maintain equipment and report operational concerns promptly.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular Technology, Radiologic Technology, or related program.
• Current certification as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) preferred, or Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT) with cardiac catheterization experience.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
• Minimum of five years of recent cardiac catheterization laboratory experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of sterile technique, cardiovascular anatomy, and cardiac procedures.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced procedural environment.
