Roles & Responsibilities
- Implement customized treatment plans to help patients regain mobility and independence
- Assist physical therapists in delivering therapeutic exercises and modalities
- Monitor patient progress and document treatments accurately
- Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and injury prevention
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Maintain a safe and clean therapy environment
Qualifications
- Active Physical Therapist Assistant license in Maine (or compact eligible)
- Associate's degree from an accredited PTA program
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Strong patient communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift and transfer patients safely
- Previous experience in a skilled nursing or outpatient setting is a plus
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of therapeutic exercise techniques and modalities
- Understanding of rehabilitation principles and patient safety
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Compassionate and patient-focused approach
