The Elmhurst Park District, established in 1920 and located 16 miles west of Chicago, provides parks, recreation facilities and programs to meet our mission of enriching lives while having fun. We have an exciting short-term job opportunity as Marketing & Communications Intern this Fall 2026!

You'll play a key role in supporting the Marketing & Communications team in promoting programs, events, facilities and services through engaging and timely content.

• Assist in the overall functions of the Marketing & Communications department.
• Assist with creating engaging content for the District's websites, social media channels, email communications, and other platforms.
• Photograph and record video at District programs, events, and facilities.
• Create short-form video content for social media.
• Assist with planning and developing social media content.
• Write, edit and proofread marketing materials, including news articles, newsletters, and other communications.
• Create basic graphics and promotional materials using established brand standards and templates.
• Assist with developing promotional campaigns for programs, events, facilities, and other District initiatives.
• Assist with proofreading and quality control to ensure accuracy, consistency and adherence to District.

What You'll Bring:

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong internal and external customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a team.
• Strong attention to detail and proofreading skills.
• Ability to create engaging and concise social media content.
• Basic photography and videography skills.
• Basic graphic design skills and familiarity in Canva.
• Familiarity with social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.
• Creativity, initiative and willingness to learn.
• Interest in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, digital media, graphic design, or related field.
• Previous experience creating content for social media, school organizations, or community organizations is a plus.

When You'll Work:

• 15-19 hours/week, schedule will vary depending on availability.

What You'll Get:

• The hourly rate for this position is $15.25/hour.
• This position falls under Pay Grade D with a pay range of $15.25 - $25.50.
