Director of Distribution and Warehousing

Lohmiller & Company, a leader in HVAC distribution, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Distribution and Warehousing to oversee operations across four Colorado locations: Johnstown, Denver, Englewood, and Colorado Springs. Reporting to the VP of Supply Chain, this executive role is pivotal in driving operational excellence, fostering a high-performance culture, and supporting the company’s long-term growth. The Director will champion safety, efficiency, and customer service while leading a talented team and optimizing processes through technology and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all warehouse, distribution, and fleet operations across multiple Colorado locations.
• Standardize and optimize warehouse processes, including receiving, replenishment, picking, shipping, inventory control, and returns.
• Develop and implement distribution strategies to enhance productivity, customer service, and profitability.
• Drive continuous improvement and champion Lean principles throughout operations.
• Establish, monitor, and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) such as warehouse productivity, order and inventory accuracy, on-time shipping, labor productivity, space and fleet utilization, safety, and employee engagement.
• Utilize operational dashboards and scorecards to drive accountability and performance improvements.
• Serve as the subject matter expert for distribution systems, including Epicor Prophet 21 (P21), PathGuide/Latitude WMS, RF warehouse technology, and inventory management systems.
• Lead system optimization and technology initiatives to improve operational efficiency and accuracy.
• Coach, mentor, and develop Warehouse Managers and future leaders, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.
• Conduct performance reviews, succession planning, and leadership development activities.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Purchasing, Finance, Operations, and Executive Leadership to optimize inventory, customer service, and overall company performance.
• Oversee company vehicle fleet operations, including maintenance, utilization, safety, compliance, replacement planning, vendor management, and cost control.
• Promote and maintain a world-class safety culture, ensuring OSHA and regulatory compliance, conducting operational and safety audits, and driving initiatives to reduce incidents and improve workplace safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Operations Management, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of leadership experience in warehouse and distribution operations.
• 5+ years of experience managing multi-site distribution operations.
• Demonstrated success in developing KPI-driven organizations and implementing standardized operating procedures.
• Strong financial, analytical, and leadership skills.
• Expertise with Epicor Prophet 21 (P21) and PathGuide/Latitude Warehouse Management System (WMS).
• Experience managing operational budgets, capital projects, and large distribution teams.
