About the Position

Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician Profession: Healthcare Specialty: Sterile Processing Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Evening Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Certifications: BLS, CBSPD, CRCST or HSPA Must-Have: - High School Diploma or equivalent - Successful completion of a competency-based orientation program - Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills - Strong time management and organizational skills - Ability to make quality, independent decisions - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines and high volumes - Ability to maintain the strictest levels of confidentiality - Competency in the use of various computer systems Description: Responsible for inspecting, disinfecting, assembling, processing, and distributing patient care instruments, equipment, and supplies. Ensures compliance with established policies and procedures. Acts as a resource to peers and other members of the healthcare team regarding the processing of equipment, instruments, and supplies. Stores, rotates, and ensures all items are correctly labeled. Cleans soiled instruments and equipment using appropriate personal protection equipment. Inspects and tests instruments and equipment to ensure proper functioning. Utilizes testing tools to ensure proper sterilization occurs and strives for zero defects. Monitors the performance of sterilizers and other equipment, filling out repair requisitions as necessary. Handles customer area requests in an efficient, timely, and professional manner. Actively participates in safety initiatives and completes all required competencies on time. Performs other duties as assigned.
