Host

Job Summary

As a Host, you are the first point of contact for all guests starting their dining experience at our casual dining style restaurant. Your goal is to set the tone for the guests from the moment they enter. This is a seasonal, hourly position and includes an option for employee housing for the duration of employment.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate the stamina to work long hours in a fast-paced service environment

• Welcome guests to the establishment and provide accurate wait times

• Acknowledge guests upon their departure

• Be in frequent communication with Back of House supervisor and team

• Demonstrate the ability to problem solve independently or in collaboration with your team and/or supervisor

• Recognize and assist guests that require extra attention

• Management of reservations

• Escort guests to assigned seating or bar area, provide menus and server's name

• Maintain a clean reception area

• Write on Daily specials board after consulting with BOH

• Coordinate with staff about available seating options and designate sections prior to service

• Assist Servers with bussing, cocktailing, and food delivery

• Monitors wait lists

• Manage phone for to-go orders and call-ins

• Other duties as assigned

• High School (High school diploma) or GED

Working Conditions

• Ability to work outdoors for long periods of time, including during extreme heat and cold or weather events

• Ability to lift 30lbs independently; all lifts over 51 lbs. require assistance from a co-worker

• Able to stand and move for long periods of time

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous work experience as a Host/Hostess/Server

• Understanding of table side service

• Food Knowledge preferred but not required

• Customer Service skills required

• Strong organizational and Communication skills keeping the dining room and bar fluid
• Food Handler (ServSafe) Certification and TIPS certification
  • Must be obtained by property opening date or before starting any work involving food or alcohol handling

Additional Information

• This position requires the individual to wear and work in personal protective equipment, when applicable.
• This position requires that the individual is able to lift a minimum of 45lbs independently.
• Physical demands associated with this position include extensive walking, standing, bending, twisting, lifting, and maneuvering in an outdoor environment on uneven surfaces.
• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions including but not limited to heat, cold, rain, snow, humidity, and wind.
• This position is contingent upon the satisfactory completion of a background check and/or motor vehicle records check, if requested by Under Canvas.
