Registered Nurse (RN)-Medical Services Sign On Bonus Eligible RBH is now offering sign‑on bonus opportunities for qualifying professionals! The Richmond Behavioral Health Authority is seeking a full‑time Registered Nurse (RN) for the expansion of Integrated Care. The RN’s focus is on health and wellness and includes providing general nursing and psychiatric services such as medical and psychiatric nursing assessments, vital signs, EKGs, venipuncture, intramuscular medication administration, urine drug screens, and maintaining timely, thorough documentation within regulatory and professional standards of practice. Essential Functions Provide assessment and screening of the risk factors for metabolic syndrome. Obtain physician orders; collaborate with pharmacy and physician to assist clients with medication refills as needed. Provide linkage to community resources to promote wellness. Administer medications both intramuscularly and orally in accordance with nursing standards of practice; provide medication and health wellness education to clients. Complete medically related assessments including mental status exams, primary care screenings, monitoring medication side effects and adherence, administering treatment scales (e.g., the PHQ‑9) and taking vital signs on all clients across the lifespan per agency policy. Draw blood and perform urine drug screens; label specimens via computer printout; administer and interpret TB tests; process gel‑top blood tubes via centrifuge; assist, monitor, and track lab results; report abnormal results to the provider; utilize universal precautions on all patients. Implement and utilize collaborative documentation. Maintain thorough documentation of daily activities, including nursing and treatment services. Attend and participate on the integrated treatment team; attend staff meetings and trainings as required; collaborate with primary care and substance‑use services as clinically indicated. Facilitate referrals to health professionals for behavioral health and medical needs. Maintain productivity standards as set by the division. Coordinate schedules and ensure an appropriate level of nursing services to clients, including monitoring, administration, and documentation of injections, venipunctures, and other nursing services; collaborate with treatment providers including primary care, developmental disabilities, and substance‑use providers. Coordinate schedule with providers and front‑desk staff. Collaborate with all members of the client’s treatment team to provide nursing plans of care that are integrated into the client’s treatment plan; coordinate referrals to primary care as appropriate and in collaboration with the primary service provider. Provide crisis intervention services as needed. Order medical supplies as needed and keep the workspace, including labs, clean and organized. Attend staff meetings as scheduled. Assist providers in the submission of prior authorizations as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Education and Experience At a minimum, an Associate’s degree with nursing coursework and at least two (2) years of nursing experience, including at least one (1) year of experience working with individuals experiencing mental illnesses in a hospital or community mental‑health setting, is preferred. The candidate must be licensed as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia and be able to use technology to complete all work‑related activities. Qualifying staff will be eligible for a $7,500.00 sign‑on bonus as defined by the terms and conditions of the approved sign‑on bonus policy. Special Requirements Valid driver’s license in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Current license as a registered nurse issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia. CPR certification. Computer proficiency.
