Overview: The Security and Loss Prevention Expert (SLP Expert) is a key leadership position within the Amazon Security and Loss Prevention (S&LP) team. This role leads the effort to efficiently and effectively provide End-to-End (E2E) S&LP services across all assigned operational business units. This position reports to the SLP Cluster Manager. Key Job Responsibilities Identify vulnerabilities and conduct root cause analysis using data to define mitigating actions while ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards. Actively monitor and report outcomes for systems and tools that generate data indicating site/region opportunities. Manage confidential investigations and prepare prompt reports of theft, fraud, and workplace violence/critical incidents. Utilize continuous improvement to drive process enhancements and increase efficiency. Serve as the department’s liaison and security/crisis management subject matter expert, keeping site leadership informed on the department’s key issues, strategies, and performance. Identify, promote, and implement security best practices while partnering with internal customers to evaluate current and future security needs, processes, and initiatives, including incident response planning, facilitation, and management. Domestic regional travel up to 50% of the time when applicable. Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach; stand/walk for up to 12 hours during shifts; work in environments where the noise level varies and can be loud; work in environments subject to variable temperatures and weather (delivery stations include outside loading departments); continuously climb and descend stairs (applies to sites with stairs). Cover 24/7 operations and be able to work all shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Day in the Life As a SLP Expert, you will join a team of S&LP professionals providing security as a service to business customers across multiple business units within a dedicated geographical area. You perform regular physical security audits and investigate policy violations, security-related incidents, and loss events. During your investigations, you will collect information by monitoring systems and tools, analyzing data reports, and conducting interviews. Your findings contribute to identifying vulnerabilities in various processes to drive mitigating measures, maintaining the physical integrity of sites by auditing and monitoring system health, and collaborating with subject matter experts and external suppliers to uphold functionality. You identify and act upon initiatives improving physical security infrastructure, contribute directly to budgetary planning for external suppliers, interact daily with external security service providers to ensure high‑quality security services, and deliver loss prevention–related education and awareness programs across all management levels. You manage the implementation of the S&LP plan and work on multiple high‑impact initiatives and projects through effective project management. About the Team Worldwide Operations Security (WWOS) is the global organization that supports field Loss Prevention and is designed to support Amazon’s Worldwide Operations, as well as affiliate and retail businesses, by creating and maintaining a work environment that is both prepared and secure through global security centers of excellence staffed by subject matter experts in people and asset protection. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or 4+ years of relevant professional or military experience. 2+ years of security service, loss prevention, asset protection, investigations, law enforcement, or Amazon (Blue Badge/FTE) experience. Preferred Qualifications Experience implementing metric‑based strategies using continuous improvement concepts. Experience in physical security systems maintenance/implementation and coordinating scope of work with security vendors. 2+ years of operational experience in risk management, audit, data analytics, inventory control, quality assurance, retail, warehouse, distribution center services, delivery service, or supply chain. Investigative interviewing experience; certifications such as Wicklander and Zulawski, Loss Prevention Qualified, Certified Protection Professional, Loss Prevention Certified, Certified Forensic Interviewer, Certified Threat Assessment Certification, or other relevant credentials. Experience in workplace incident mitigation or de‑escalation and business continuity planning. Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel PivotTables and chart/graphic development. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
