Job DescriptionAre you an experienced Environmental Assurance Engineer with a strong track record in supporting environmental compliance and sustainability on major infrastructure projects? You will play a key role in ensuring environmental requirements are implemented effectively across nationally significant D&B infrastructure projects in Ireland including metro, aviation, rail, water and highway schemes.Join our Project & Programme Management team and help close the gap to a sustainable future.Your new role As Environmental Assurance Engineer, you will support the delivery of environmental compliance and sustainability objectives across major infrastructure projects in Ireland. You will work closely with the Environmental Assurance Lead, project teams, and contractors to ensure environmental standards, commitments, and best practices are embedded into the design and construction process. You will contribute to environmental assurance activities, monitoring performance and supporting the implementation of environmental and sustainability initiatives across the project lifecycle.Working pattern Hybrid role requiring office and site attendance as required, with a majority of projects delivered in and around Dublin.Your key responsibilities will be:Supporting environmental assurance processes to ensure compliance with environmental legislation, approvals, and project requirementsMonitoring contractor environmental performance, including site inspections, audits and reportingReviewing and assessing environmental documentation such as CEMPs, method statements and risk assessmentsSupporting the implementation of environmental management systems and assurance frameworksAssisting in the identification, management and mitigation of environmental risks and non-conformancesCoordinating environmental data collection and contributing to reporting on environmental performanceSupporting delivery of environmental commitments arising from EIA and planning approvalsProviding environmental advice to project teams and supporting day-to-day site-based decision-makingAssisting with stakeholder and regulator engagement on environmental compliance matters as requiredSupporting sustainability initiatives, including carbon, resource efficiency, and waste managementPromoting best practice in environmental management and contributing to continuous improvementAbout youExperience in an environmental or sustainability role on infrastructure or construction projects (e.g. metro, aviation, rail, water and highways schemes)Understanding of environmental legislation, compliance requirements, and consenting processesExperience supporting environmental assurance, monitoring or auditing activities on construction sitesFamiliarity with Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and implementation of environmental commitmentsUnderstanding of sustainability principles, including carbon management, climate resilience, and resource efficiencyAbility to review technical environmental documents and identify key risks and mitigation measuresStrong attention to detail, with good analytical and problem-solving skillsEffective communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work across multi-disciplinary teamsProactive and organised, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritiesDegree in environmental science, engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. ISSSP, PMI, APM, MIEMA / MISEP or equivalent).
