CNC Lathe Machinist Operator (2nd Shift)
Join our stable, family-oriented job shop in Schiller Park as a 2nd Shift CNC Lathe Machinist. This role is perfect for a self-motivated professional who enjoys the independence of a 2nd shift environment. You will lead the setup and operation of CNC lathes and vertical machining centers (Okuma, Haas, Kitamura) to produce high-precision parts for diverse industries.
Location: Schiller Park, IL 60176
Pay Range: $24.00 $32.00 per hour
Shift: 2nd Shift (Monday Friday)

Key Responsibilities
- Independent Setup: Perform full machine setups and changeovers on 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis machines.
- G-Code Editing: Load programs and perform at-machine edits using Fanuc (16i, 18i, 200i, 31i) or Okuma controls.
- Precision Control: Maintain tight tolerances down to.0005" while monitoring both short and long-run production.
- Quality Assurance: Take ownership of quality by performing first-piece and in-process inspections using micrometers and calipers.
- Supportive Environment: Assist with troubleshooting and material handling (using hoists for parts up to 60 lbs).
Required Qualifications
- Experience: 35 years of CNC lathe operation experience, set up experience would be a plus
- Technical Skills: Proficient in blueprint reading and manual inspection tool usage.
- Shift Availability: Ability to work 2nd shift consistently in a job shop environment.
- Education: High school diploma or GED; advanced machining certifications are a plus.

Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of SCHILLER PARK, IL.
Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $32.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
