Are you ready to take what you've learned in the classroom and bring it to life at the bedside? The Mercy Nursing Externship is an exclusive, paid winter experience designed for nursing students who are eager to accelerate their growth, build confidence, and gain meaningful hands-on experience alongside some of the most compassionate and skilled nurses in healthcare.

As a Mercy Nursing Extern, you'll work approximately 24 hours per week (two 12-hour shifts) and rotate through a variety of nursing units, gaining exposure to diverse patient populations and specialty areas while learning directly from experienced Mercy nurses who are invested in your success.

Our externship program provides an unmatched opportunity to:

• Experience real-world nursing practice in a supportive acute care environment

• Develop the confidence and critical-thinking skills needed to thrive as a future RN

• Work one-on-one with experienced nurse preceptors who are dedicated to mentoring and developing the next generation of nurses

• Build meaningful connections with clinical leaders and nursing teams across the organization

Externship Requirement: Applicants must have completed at least 2 semesters of nursing school , including a minimum of one round of clinicals , by the start of the externship
