Sr. Electrical Engineer

Our team of multi-disciplinary experts is seeking a Sr. Electrical Professional Engineer who will utilize their design expertise to dream big ideas on various and complex water and wastewater utility projects. The projects associated with this position will focus on electrical distribution systems primarily for water and wastewater treatment‑related facilities which typically include process treatment structures and buildings. Responsibilities Be responsible for design and specification of electrical systems for water and wastewater conveyance and treatment facilities From planning studies to final design, lead in preparing contract documents for plans, specifications, and cost estimates for complex projects Electrical systems include low- and medium-voltage power distribution, lighting, emergency power systems, UPS, and batteries Expertly apply knowledge of commonly used electrical engineering and design concepts, principles, best practices, codes, and guidelines related to electrical engineering industry Manage several different assignments simultaneously Provide quality control and quality assurance of electrical engineering plans, specifications, and estimates in the water market Perform power system studies for electrical systems including load flow, short circuit, coordination and arc flash Have competency in equipment sizing, grounding, and relay coordination Perform field visits and conduct site investigations for public and private clients Provide services during construction including submittal reviews, response to Contractor’s request for information, review and approval of change orders, and preparation of record drawings Collaborate with multi-discipline teams across multiple office locations Develop basis of design reports and technical memorandums Mentor junior staff Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Professional Engineer (PE) license and ability to be licensed in multiple states (or ability to obtain PE license within one year of hire) Substantial years of experience in professional design of electrical systems associated with water projects Low and medium voltage power distribution experience Solid understanding of applicable industry electrical codes, and standard practices, including the National Electrical Code (NEC) and NFPA requirements Hands‑on knowledge and design proficiency in electrical standards, codes, and vendor equipment options Electrical system testing and commissioning experience Proficiency with NFPA 820 requirements Preferred Qualifications Instrumentation and Control system design experience Experience with LEED certification or similar sustainability experience Benefits Medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance 401(k) plan Ability to purchase company stock at a discount Eligible employees may also enroll in a deferred compensation plan or the Executive Deferral Plan Unlimited U.S. Personalized Paid Time Off (PPTO) policy for full‑time salaried/exempt employees Seven paid holidays and caregiver leave Merit increases, performance discretionary bonus, and stock for certain roles Salary The base salary range for this position is $120,400.00 to $190,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
