Industrial Powder Coating Technician (Part-Time)

Compensation: $15–$18 per hour, based on experience

A day in the life: You clock in, review the job queue, and start transforming raw metal into finished product. You prep surfaces so the coating adheres flawlessly, adjust your spray pattern for clean coverage, and guide the parts through cure cycles at the correct temperature and time. Between batches, you inspect for thickness and defects, keep the workflow moving on the racks, and leave your booth spotless so the next run is just as smooth.

What you’ll handle

• Prepare metal parts: clean, sand, mask, and blast as needed for proper adhesion
• Apply powder using electrostatic spray guns and related coating equipment
• Cure coated parts in ovens to specified time and temperature
• Inspect finishes for coverage, film thickness, and overall quality
• Load and unload parts from racks, maintaining continuous workflow
• Maintain equipment and keep the work area organized and safe
• Wear required PPE and follow all safety procedures without exception

What you bring

• 1+ year of powder coating experience preferred
• Working knowledge of metal prep, coating methods, and cure processes
• Ability to lift 40–50 lbs and remain on your feet for extended periods
• Sharp eye for detail and consistent workmanship
• Reliable team contributor who follows through and supports production goals

Work environment

Fast-paced manufacturing/production floor with frequent standing, lifting, and moving parts on racks. Expect an active setting where multiple parts are in motion and timing matters.
