Key Responsibilities of the ICU Nurse

• Manage arterial lines and central lines
• Administer blood products
• Provide care for ventilated patients
• Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and dysrhythmias
• Administer and manage intravenous (IV) sedation
• Care for patients with acute and chronic renal failure
• Float within skillset when required
• Manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure

Requirements of the ICU Nurse

• Valid NY State License
• BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience; Charge RN experience preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
