Behavioral Health Nurse Manager - RN

Custom Healthcare Solutions is seeking an experienced Behavioral Health Nurse Manager for a contract opportunity with a hospital in Queens, NY. This position is ideal for an experienced psychiatric/behavioral health RN leader who is comfortable overseeing clinical operations, supporting nursing staff, and ensuring safe, high-quality patient care within a behavioral health setting. Schedule Day shift Full-time schedule Exact hours and scheduling expectations will be discussed during the interview Schedule may vary based on department needs Pay $90.00 per hour Responsibilities Provide clinical and operational leadership for the Behavioral Health nursing unit Oversee daily nursing operations, staffing, assignments, and patient-care needs Support safe, high-quality, patient-centered psychiatric nursing care Provide leadership, coaching, mentorship, and support to nursing staff Participate in staff onboarding, orientation, performance management, and professional development Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, physicians, nursing leadership, social work, and other members of the interdisciplinary team Promote effective patient flow, admissions, transfers, and discharges Ensure nursing practice is consistent with hospital policies, behavioral health standards, and regulatory requirements Monitor patient safety and support appropriate crisis-prevention and de-escalation practices Participate in quality improvement, performance improvement, and patient-safety initiatives Assist with staffing and scheduling to ensure appropriate coverage for patient-care needs Support compliance with documentation, infection prevention, medication safety, and clinical standards Requirements Active New York State RN license BSN required Master’s degree in Nursing or related field preferred Minimum 3 years of Behavioral Health/Psychiatric nursing experience preferred Previous Nurse Manager, Assistant Nurse Manager, Supervisor, Charge RN, or other nursing leadership experience required Hospital-based or inpatient Behavioral Health experience strongly preferred Current BLS certification Strong knowledge of psychiatric nursing, patient safety, crisis prevention, and de-escalation Experience with staffing, scheduling, performance management, and interdisciplinary collaboration Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills Must be comfortable leading within a fast-paced Behavioral Health environment Interested?
