Class A CDL Delivery Driver - Hazmat & Tanker
Buttonwillow Warehouse Company
Job Description
Job Description
About the Role: Are you a safety-first Class A driver looking for a stable, rewarding opportunity where you can sleep in your own bed every night? We are seeking a dependable Class A CDL Driver with a Hazmat endorsement to join our team. In this role, you will be the face of our company, safely delivering essential agricultural chemicals, fertilizers, and other materials to our local customers.
We pride ourselves on a culture where Safety is our #1 priority . If you encounter unsafe conditions, we empower you to stop the delivery—no questions asked. If you want to work for a company that respects your expertise, keeps you in well-maintained equipment, and gets you home daily, we want to hear from you!
Why Drive For Us?
- Home Daily! Enjoy consistent local routes and a great work-life balance.
- Health Coverage: Comprehensive Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits.
- Paid Time Off: Generous Vacation and Paid Sick Leave so you can recharge.
- Paid Holidays: 9 paid holidays per year to spend with family and friends.
What You’ll Do (Main Responsibilities):
- Drive Safely: Operate Class A commercial vehicles to deliver hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
- Inspect & Secure: Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and ensure all loads are properly secured before transit.
- Deliver Excellence: Verify products, shipping papers, placards, and delivery locations while providing professional, courteous customer service.
- Load & Unload: Safely handle products during loading/unloading, always using required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Communicate: Keep dispatch informed of deliveries, delays, or issues, and report any unsafe conditions or equipment problems immediately.
- Stay Compliant: Maintain accurate logs, delivery tickets, and paperwork in strict adherence to DOT, Hazmat, and company safety requirements.
What We’re Looking For (Qualifications):
- Licenses: Valid Class A CDL with active Hazmat endorsement (Tanker endorsement strongly preferred).
- Certifications: Current DOT medical certification (or ability to obtain one).
- Record: Acceptable driving record and ability to pass DOT drug and alcohol testing requirements.
- Skills: Ability to read shipping papers, labels, placards, and delivery instructions.
- Physical Ability: Must be able to safely enter/exit trucks, work outdoors in various weather conditions, connect equipment, and follow safe-lifting practices.
- Experience: Previous Class A driving experience is required; experience delivering agricultural chemicals or pesticides is a huge plus!
