Alcohol Compliance Security Worker - Arizona State University Athletics

Job Description The Alcohol Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring all alcoholic beverage sales and service comply with federal, state, and local laws, as well as company policies. This role helps maintain a safe environment for guests and employees by promoting responsible alcohol service, preventing underage sales, monitoring compliance, supporting staff training and maintaining the security of people and/or property in the assigned area(s). Responsibilities may include but are not limited to assisting clients, customers, and visitors to and on site, enforcing site regulations, reporting safety hazards, assisting with traffic control, etc. Essential functions and responsibilities of the position may vary by Aramark location based on client requirements and business needs. Job Responsibilities Provides patrol of buildings and surrounding property Schedules and assigns daily work assignments and/or projects to a team Coordinates completion of tasks Protects property and staff by maintaining safe and secure surroundings Monitor and control access at building entrances and admits appropriate personnel and/or guests Unlocks buildings/doors after checking identification Responds to all emergency situations Maintains confidentiality of security information Ensures security of company assets Patrols assigned areas on foot, checking for fires, vandalism, suspicious activity or persons or safety/fire hazards Investigates and/or reports hazards, unusual or suspicious circumstances to General Manager for correction or follow- up actions Checks doors and windows of buildings to ensure they are tightly closed and locked; notes in written log any unlocked doors/windows; submits information to supervisor Assists any persons in building or on grounds needing directions or information Escorts people/property to desired destination when monies, documents or safety of property or persons are a concern Responds to alarms and dispatched calls; decides what actions to take based on situation, facts known and position limitations Decides when incident requires written report; decides which report form to use and submits to supervisor Conducts investigations and prepares accurate and complete written reports May assist on-duty law enforcement officers with crowd control and surveillance at large public events Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local alcohol laws and regulations. Verify guest age by checking valid government-issued identification before serving or selling alcoholic beverages. Refuse alcohol service to underage or visibly intoxicated individuals in accordance with applicable laws and company policy. Monitor alcohol service throughout shifts to promote responsible consumption. Conduct routine compliance checks and identify potential policy violations. Educate and support employees on responsible alcohol service practices. Maintain accurate documentation of alcohol-related incidents, refusals of service, and compliance records. Report compliance concerns or violations promptly to management. Assist during inspections conducted by regulatory agencies and ensure all required permits and licenses are maintained. Support implementation of company policies regarding alcohol sales, service, and guest safety. Qualifications Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a restaurant, bar, hospitality, retail, or customer service environment preferred. Valid Food Handler Certificate. Valid Alcohol Server Certification (or equivalent certification required by state or local regulations). Knowledge of responsible alcohol service practices and applicable alcohol laws. Ability to verify identification and ensure compliance with age-verification requirements. Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions in high-pressure situations. Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events. Reliable transportation and dependable attendance. Demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. Requires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 25 lb. Requires frequent standing, walking, and climbing stairs. Must be able to work days, nights, overnights, weekends, holidays as required by location.
