Fitness Floor Attendant (on-call)

About the role HealthFitness is looking for a Fitness Floor Attendant to join the fitness team at a corporate client site in Bloomfield, CT. This is an on‑call/substitute position working on an as‑needed basis when regular staff members are unavailable. Responsibilities include providing exercise floor supervision and interacting with members and program participants within the fitness center. Key Accountabilities Interact with participants and monitor equipment and participant safety. Welcome members by greeting, answering questions, responding to requests at the front desk and inputting data into the membership system. Perform facility maintenance responsibilities; ensure the facility, equipment and locker rooms are clean and always stocked. Understand and execute the Emergency Medical Procedures throughout the facility. Demonstrate and instruct on the proper use of exercise equipment. Minimum Requirements Must be 18 years or older. High School Diploma or GED required. Adult CPR/AED & First Aid certifications from the American Red Cross, the American Heart Association, or the American Safety & Health Institute required within the first 30 days of hire. Prior fitness and customer service experience strongly preferred. Computer application knowledge (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) strongly preferred. Physical demands require the ability to lift up to 40 lb. weights for restacking. Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills, including the ability to motivate others. Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work demands. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team with enthusiasm, initiative, and creativity. Applicants must meet hiring requirements including but not limited to a pre‑employment drug test. The compensation range for this role is $17 - $18 per hour. The final wage offer will be determined based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, skill set, and other relevant factors.
