Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a qualified Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse with extensive experience in Neuro care. This role involves providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment, working collaboratively within a healthcare team to deliver excellent service to patients.

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care to individuals with medical/surgical conditions, including neuro-related issues.
Monitor and assess patients' conditions, reporting any significant changes to the healthcare team.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
Document patient information accurately and timely in accordance with facility protocols.
Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Assist in patient education regarding health management and discharge plans.
Float to other medical/surgical units as necessary, based on patient care needs.

Schedule Details

Shift: 12 hours, Nights (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Holiday Requirement: As needed

Qualifications

Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Medical/Surgical RN and 2 years of Neuro unit experience required. Preference for candidates with 4+ years of experience in both areas.
Experience with Epic electronic health record system is essential.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred but not required.
New graduates will not be considered for this position.

Contract Length

This position is contracted for a duration of 12 weeks.
