Entry-Level Mechanical Product Design and Analysis Engineer

Position Summary Entry‑Level Mechanical Product Design and Analysis Engineer – Space Electronics Packaging and Product Design Team at Boeing, located in ElSegundo,CA. This role supports full in‑house cradle‑to‑grave development from concept through production, focusing on mechanical PCB design, electronics packaging, and thermal/structural/vibration analysis. Responsibilities Coordinate with multi‑discipline groups to develop and understand requirements and produce high‑level and detailed designs consistent with those requirements. Guide structural design and configuration development by performing trade studies to optimize structure and meet program requirements. Perform detailed structural and thermal analysis using hand calculations and analysis tools. Document structural analyses and data, showing compliance with Boeing, customer, and regulatory requirements at the module, slice, and unit level. Collaborate with Electrical Engineering to perform sizing and placement studies, as well as layout and routing of printed circuit boards (PCBs). Validate designs through review, testing, and analysis. Develop, deploy, and support new processes and process improvements to increase engineering efficiency and reduce cycle time. Conduct root‑cause and corrective action investigations for failures and plan go‑forward actions. Identify, track, and report technical performance measures to ensure compliance with requirements. Support Supplier Management with make/buy recommendations and other technical services of limited scope. Investigate emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs. Work under general direction. Worksite: 100% onsite in ElSegundo,CA with Boeing’s optional 9/80 schedule rotation (9‑hour shifts, 8 days per pay period, and every other Friday off). Basic Qualifications U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. Secret Clearance Post‑Start). Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or equivalent. Experience using computer‑aided design (CAD) tools. Experience with thermal, structural, dynamics, and/or vibration analysis and tools OR experience with PCB design or assembly. Preferred Qualifications Active Top Secret/SCI clearance. Experience within aerospace or related industry or with space electronics. Experience with ANSYS, Creo CAD, SolidWorks, FEA, SiemensNX, Nastran, MSCPatran, COMSOLMultiphysics. Excellent oral and written communication skills across multiple disciplines. Ability to collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data; develop conclusions and recommendations. Experience leading teams on complex projects. Advanced technical education (Level1) in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
