This position is responsible for performing engineering services for all fixed equipment assets, including heat exchangers, pressure vessels, boilers, process heaters, and piping. This position will work closely with the Inspection Department, Maintenance, Operations, Turnaround Department, and Capital Projects Group to ensure safe, compliant, and reliable operation of the plant. This is an on-site position located at the CITGO Refinery in Lemont, Illinois.Expected Salary Range: $104,000 - $140,000Benefits: CITGO Salaried Benefits BrochureDeadline to apply: Thursday, September 3, 2026Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering or other related engineering degree2 years of job-related engineering experience, 5+ years of job-related experience preferredExperience at a refinery, chemical plant, or heavy industrial facility preferredFamiliarity with design/construction codes and standards such as ASME Section I, ASME Section VIII, ASME B31.3, API 510, API 570 AND API 571 preferredExperience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and PI preferredGood verbal and written communication skills at all levels of the organizationAbility to work in a multi-tasked environmentValid Driver's LicenseAbility to obtain a Transportation Worker's Identification Credential (TWIC)Job DutiesProvide technical support to the area team and others throughout the refineryPerform incident investigations to identify root causes of failures and generate recommendations to ensure they do not occur in the futureTroubleshoot problems with pressure vessels, heat exchangers, bolted joints, etc.Work with Inspection and Corrosion Engineers to evaluate equipment damage mechanisms and make recommendations for potential projects and other efforts to mitigate equipment reliability concernsParticipate in the development of Corrosion Control Documents and Integrity Operating WindowsPerform Fitness-for-Service and remaining life calculationsDevelop repair procedures for damaged equipmentActively participate in turnaround planning and execution to ensure turnarounds achieve fixed equipment reliability improvement goalsManage the procurement of like-in-kind replacements of fixed equipmentPerform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.Job duties displayed above are not all-inclusiveJob Duties IIJob duties displayed above are not all-inclusive, site-specific responsibilities may be assigned.
