Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – CVICU | Nights

Hours: 36 Hours/Week
Shift: Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Schedule: 3 × 12-hour shifts
License: Active Arizona RN License Required
Experience: 2+ Years Required

✨ Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Travel CVICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join a dynamic critical care team for a 13-week night-shift assignment .

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident ICU nurse with strong cardiac and critical-care experience who is comfortable caring for high-acuity patients requiring ventilator support and vasoactive medications. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate exceptional clinical judgment and critical-thinking skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill cardiovascular and ICU patients .

• Care for patients recovering from complex cardiac and vascular procedures.

• Manage patients requiring mechanical ventilation and vasoactive medication infusions .

• Monitor hemodynamic status and recognize subtle changes in critically ill patients.

• Collaborate closely with intensivists, cardiologists, surgeons, respiratory therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.

• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions according to established protocols.

• Provide safe, evidence-based care for patients experiencing acute and life-threatening conditions.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes.

• Respond rapidly to changes in patient condition and participate in emergency interventions.

• Follow all patient-safety, infection-control, and facility protocols.

Patient Population & Clinical Experience

Typical cases and procedures may include:

• Post-CABG patients

• STEMI patients

• Vascular patients

• Complex cardiovascular and critical-care cases

⭐ Preferred Experience

Candidates with the following experience will be considered first :

• Open Heart

• Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP)

• CRRT

Weekend Requirement

• 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule

• Candidates must be willing to work at least 6 Saturday/Sunday shifts during the 13-week contract .

Floating Requirement

The selected RN must be willing to float to other appropriate units based on facility needs , including:

• Medical ICU (MICU)

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

✅ Required Qualifications

• Active Arizona RN License

• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU/CVICU experience

• BLS certification

• ACLS certification

• Strong cardiac/ICU experience

• Proven experience managing ventilated patients

• Experience managing vasoactive drips

• Ability to work independently in a high-acuity critical-care environment

• Flexibility to float to other critical-care units as needed
