DC Power Telecom Technician Level III/IV - 100% Travel

Base pay range $30.00/yr - $44.00/yr

JOB SUMMARY

A Level III/IV Lead Installer is responsible for quality installation of equipment in the central office and outside plant environments as specified in engineering instructions and drawings and in accordance with customer standards. This is a field based position, requiring up to 100% travel. This position is ideal for an experienced technician who thrives in dynamic environments, takes ownership of their work, and enjoys mentoring others while delivering exceptional technical results. Essential Job Functions Install, test, and turn up equipment in the Central Office and Outside Plant Environments Add and/or removal of battery strings Perform additions, removals, and modifications on working equipment and circuits Add and/or remove circuits on working power distribution equipment Installation of auxiliary framing and relay racks Onsite analysis of job drawings and specifications to resolve any issues prior to job start Preparation of SMOPs and DMOPs for the project Function as the point of contact for support groups such as engineering, material assignment, etc. Review the work assignments and project steps (reference the SMOP/DMOP) before each work shift so that all personnel, including contractors, are aware of their roles and responsibilities during the scheduled work tour Completing the job log as per company standards, including the personnel and hours worked by each work items completed or in progress and notable site or project issues Complete DC audits, preventive maintenance, and/or load testing of DC power systems and standby batteries. Additional Responsibilities Add and/or upgrade software as needed Oversee the work assignment, time management, and training and development of all personnel assigned to the job Maintain a professional orientation, ensuring quality and outstanding customer service Qualifications Level 4 installers shall have a minimum of 6 years accumulated experience or equivalent as determined by the TC specifications High school diploma, technical degree preferred Special electronics training or work experience Demonstrated knowledge of a variety of customer standards including but not limited to Telcordia Standards Strong verbal and written customer facing skills Strong computer skills to include MS Office experience Experience with complying with all customer standards and paperwork including testing and closeout paperwork Proficient in the use of electronic test equipment Standard Training Requirements Network Reliability Field Safety Level 4 Training (as applicable) Global Safety Training (as applicable) Arc Flash Back Safety Confined Space CPR/First Aid Certification Driver Safety Electrical Safety Fall Protection Lockout/Tagout Personal Protective Equipment
