• Provide outreach, emotional support, and crisis counseling to individuals, families, and groups impacted by disasters
• Deliver presentations and educational sessions on disaster reactions, coping strategies, and recovery resources
• Build and maintain relationships with community partners, agencies, and local organizations
• Connect individuals to appropriate services and resources through referrals and follow-up support
• Represent the Crisis Counseling Program (CCP) in community outreach and engagement efforts
• Participate in data collection, documentation, and program reporting requirements
• Attend and complete required trainings and program activities
• Maintain flexibility to meet community needs, including working evenings and weekends as required
• Perform other duties as assigned Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications:
• High School diploma or GED required
• Experience in disaster response, crisis intervention, or community outreach preferred Additional Qualifications:
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record and current auto insurance
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
• Understanding of disaster response systems and community support resources preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations and maintain confidentiality Physical Requirements
• Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally
• Ability to perform repetitive hand, finger, and arm movements for typing and documentation
• Ability to sit for extended periods with occasional walking or standing
