Maintenance Technician – 2nd ShiftManufacturing / Maintenance Location: Gastonia, NC Shift: 2nd Shift | Monday – Friday | 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM Employment Type: Full-TimeStabilus is a global leader in motion control solutions — gas springs, dampers, and electromechanical drives — with 8,000+ employees across 45 locations worldwide.Position SummaryThe Electrical Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining highly automated manufacturing equipment with primary focus on electrical, electronic, and control systems. This role supports production uptime and equipment reliability by responding to breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, and completing repairs in a safe and timely manner.The successful candidate will have strong electrical maintenance fundamentals and practical troubleshooting ability in automated manufacturing equipment. This position is expected to diagnose and correct electrical and controls-related issues independently, support equipment upgrades and improvement activities, and contribute to effective maintenance repair methods and process reliability.Key ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot, diagnose, and repair production equipment with emphasis on electrical, electronic, and controls-related issuesDiagnose and correct equipment issues independently and escalate complex issues as appropriateExecute preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, projects, and repair activities on manufacturing equipmentSupport upgrades and improvements to existing equipment, process design, and maintenance repair methodsTroubleshoot PLC-controlled systems, including field devices, wiring, sensors, relays, and control componentsRepair and replace electrical components such as sensors, switches, relays, contactors, overloads, drives, motors, and related hardwareRead and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and equipment manualsAccurately document maintenance work, downtime events, parts usage, and follow-up actions in SAP-PMCommunicate equipment status and repair progress clearly to production supervision and maintenance leadershipSupport continuous improvement initiatives related to uptime, equipment reliability, safety, and maintenance effectivenessFollow all safety, environmental, and electrical safe work practices, including LOTO requirementsRequired Qualifications2-year EE technical degree preferred or equivalent technical certificationsMinimum 5 years of equipment maintenance and reliability experience with relevant manufacturing equipmentDemonstrated ability to diagnose and correct issues independentlyStrong troubleshooting skills in industrial electrical systems and machine controlsWorking knowledge of PLC-controlled equipment, sensors, relays, drives, motors, and related electrical componentsWorking knowledge of Siemens S5 PLC systems is requiredAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics, diagrams, and maintenance instructionsAbility to use electrical diagnostic tools safely and effectively, including multimeters and related test equipmentExperience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentStrong problem-solving skills, sound judgment, and ability to work with limited supervisionWillingness to accommodate overtime, schedule changes, or emergency support based on business needsPreferred QualificationsWorking knowledge of Siemens S7 PLC systemsExperience with automated manufacturing equipmentExperience with SAP-PM or other CMMS systemsWorking knowledge of HMIs, industrial networking, and controls diagnosticsExperience supporting equipment and process improvement initiativesCore CompetenciesElectrical troubleshootingControls diagnosticsEquipment repairPreventive maintenance executionProblem-solvingEquipment reliability supportCommunication and documentationSafety complianceTeam collaborationWork Environment / Physical RequirementsAbility to work in a manufacturing environment around automated production equipmentAbility to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and perform physical maintenance work throughout the shiftAbility to safely work around electrical systems and moving equipment in accordance with company safety proceduresAbility to lift and carry tools, parts, and maintenance materials within established guidelinesWhat We Offer$2/hour shift premium for 2nd shiftOvertime opportunitiesHands-on experience with cutting-edge automated production equipmentCompetitive salary and benefitsCareer growth within a global manufacturing organization
