Senior HVAC Project Manager

Salary: $120,000–$140,000 annually

Location: Gainesville, FL

We are seeking an experienced Senior HVAC Project Manager to oversee HVAC construction projects from planning through closeout. This role is responsible for managing schedules, budgets, field teams, subcontractors, client communication, quality control, and overall project execution.

The ideal candidate has strong HVAC project management experience, excellent leadership skills, and a proven ability to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to specification.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Scheduling

• Develop and manage project schedules, milestones, and deadlines.
• Oversee all phases of HVAC projects, including design coordination, installation, commissioning, and closeout.
• Coordinate labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and internal resources.

Budgeting & Cost Control

• Create, manage, and monitor project budgets.
• Review estimates, vendor agreements, change orders, and project costs.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality and performance standards.

Team Leadership

• Coordinate field teams, superintendents, foremen, subcontractors, and support staff.
• Clearly communicate project expectations, responsibilities, and timelines.
• Provide leadership to ensure safe, efficient, and timely project execution.

Client Communication

• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide regular updates on project progress, budget status, schedule changes, and potential risks.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships to support long-term partnerships.

Compliance & Quality Assurance

• Ensure HVAC installations comply with applicable codes, regulations, safety standards, and project specifications.
• Conduct inspections and quality checks throughout the project.
• Partner with the safety team to proactively address safety, compliance, and performance concerns.

Risk Management & Problem Solving

• Identify project risks, delays, and potential issues early.
• Resolve conflicts and challenges that arise during project execution.
• Develop contingency plans to keep projects on track.

Documentation & Closeout

• Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, drawings, reports, schedules, and updates.
• Ensure all documentation is organized and properly archived.
• Manage project closeout, including punch lists, client requests, final inspections, and turnover documentation.

Qualifications

Education & Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
• HVAC certifications or licenses, such as EPA or NATE, are a plus.

Experience

• 3–5+ years of project management experience in HVAC, mechanical contracting, or construction.
• Proven experience managing HVAC projects from kickoff through completion.
• Experience leading field teams, subcontractors, and project support staff.

Skills

• Strong leadership, communication, and client relationship management skills.
• Proficiency with project management and construction software such as Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, AutoCAD, or similar platforms.
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, installation processes, building codes, safety standards, and construction workflows.
• Ability to manage budgets, schedules, labor, materials, and project resources.
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.

Additional Requirements

• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to travel to job sites as needed.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
