Research Associate II - Health Economics & Health Services Research

HJF is seeking a Research Associate II - Health Economics & Health Services Research to preform research and/or development in collaboration with other scientific and technical staff. May exercise technical discretion in the design, execution, and interpretation of experiments that contribute to project strategies. This position will be in support of the Division of Health Policy and Management within the Department of Preventive Medicine and Biostatistics, the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USU) School of Medicine. The Division of Health Policy and Management conducts and disseminates full-scope and rapid-response research to enhance understanding of policy levers and system factors influencing effectiveness, efficiency, and equity of the Military Health System for Uniformed Service Members and their families. The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. We serve military, medical, academic and government clients by administering, managing and supporting preeminent scientific programs that benefit members of the armed forces and civilians alike. Since its founding in 1983, HJF has served as a vital link between the military medical community and its federal and private partners. HJF's support and administrative capabilities allow military medical researchers and clinicians to maintain their scientific focus and accomplish their research goals. Performs routine data analysis and basic interpretation, and verifies and corrects data entry. Conducts research in collaboration with other scientific and technical staff. Documents current or new procedures or protocols for sample selection, data collection, data processing, and/or statistical estimation. Coordinates and contributes to new grant and funding applications. Assists with the preparation of data for presentations at scientific meetings and for publications in journals. Prepares written reports for submission to funding organizations. May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role. Education and Experience Master's Degree in Degree in Health Economics and Outcomes Research, Economics, Health Services Research, Health Policy or a related scientific discipline. Minimum of 3-5 years' experience required. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to troubleshoot technical procedures. Analytical and logical skills. Strong attention to detail. Ability to meet deadlines of projects. Knowledge of applicable statistical software including Stata, R, and/or Python. This position may require U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a T3/Secret Security Clearance. Physical Capabilities Ability to stand or sit at a computer for prolonged periods. Work Environment This position will take place primarily in an office setting. Compensation The annual salary range for this position is $61,000 - $78,000.
