Reports To: Site Manager

Pay: $16-$20/hour, depending on experience

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, OT on Saturdays possible but not required

Location: Metairie, LA
Position Summary

We're looking for a skilled worker who can diagnose and repair gas and electric golf carts, then get them to the customer safely and on time. The ideal candidate will be mechanically efficient and eager to learn. If you have no experience with golf carts, this can be a dual role: 60% shop work and 40% on the road as we are willing to train and offer Club Car Mechanic Certification (not required). You'll be the face of the company at delivery, so customer relations matter as much as technical skills.
Service and Repair Duties

Our business is a Club Car dealership but we occasionally service Ez-Go and Yamaha
Mount and balance tires; install lift kits, light kits, seats, enclosures, stereos, and other accessories
Troubleshoot electrical systems: controllers, solenoids, motors, wiring harnesses, F&R switches, chargers, and OBC units
Test, service, and replace battery packs - lead-acid and lithium - including load testing, watering, terminal cleaning, and BMS diagnostics
Repair and replace brakes, bearings, bushings, steering components, suspension, and axles
Complete pre-delivery inspections (PDI) on new and used carts before they leave the shop

Delivery and Transport Duties

Operate a company truck and trailer to deliver, pick up, and transport carts to residential, commercial, and golf course customers
Safely load, secure, and unload carts using ramps and proper tie-down straps
Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections; report defects promptly
Plan efficient daily routes and communicate ETAs to dispatch and customers
Maintain the truck and trailer in clean, presentable, road-ready condition
Walk customers through cart operation, charging procedures, and basic maintenance at delivery
Explain diagnoses and repair recommendations in plain language, including what's urgent vs what can wait
Represent the company professionally in customer's homes, neighborhoods, and job sites

Preferred Qualifications

Mechanical experience - golf carts, small engines, powersports, automotive, or equipment repair is a plus but not required
Experience installing car stereo systems, home surveillance/AV systems or working at an auto parts store is a plus
Experience towing a trailer, or willingness to be trained and demonstrate competency
Ability to read wiring diagrams and service manuals
Positive attitude and the ability to interact with customers professionally

Physical Requirements

Regularly lift and carry up to 75 lbs; occasionally move batteries weighing 60-70 lbs each with assistance
Stand, bend, kneel, and work in awkward positions for extended periods
Work in a shop with full climate control and some outdoors work
Safely operate hand and power tools, floor jacks, and lifts
