Lead Patient Care Tech

Job Summary The Lead Patient Care Technician (PCT) is a key member of the multidisciplinary treatment team, providing direct care to behavioral health patients and overseeing PCTs during their shift. The role coordinates with registered nurses, patient care technicians, and behavioral health medical practitioners to maintain a safe environment and deliver high‑quality care. The Lead PCT also ensures unit safety and operational effectiveness, identifies environmental and patient‑specific safety concerns, directs staff during non‑violent physical interventions, seclusion and restraint episodes, and provides direct patient care as needed. Full knowledge of program policy and procedures is required. Key Responsibilities Provide direct care to behavioral health patients. Oversee and support PCTs assigned to the shift. Coordinate with RNs, PCTs, and BHMPs to safeguard patient and staff safety. Identify environmental and patient‑specific safety concerns. Direct staff during non‑violent physical interventions and seclusion/ restraint episodes. Provide direct patient care when required. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or higher preferred. At least one year of health‑care related experience with exposure to behavioral and medical crisis situations. Emergency Medical Technician certification (valid in Arizona) preferred but not required. Certified Nurse Assistant certification (valid in Arizona) preferred but not required.
