Who you are ConXtech is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead quality assurance and supplier quality initiatives across our steel fabrication supply chain. This role is responsible for ensuring conformance to engineering, manufacturing, and regulatory requirements while driving continuous improvement with both internal teams and external fabrication partners. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise in structural steel fabrication with strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills. You are comfortable working across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and field operations, and excel at building collaborative relationships that improve quality, reliability, and operational performance. Responsibility - Supplier Quality Management Develop, implement, and maintain supplier quality management systems and performance standards. Conduct supplier audits, capability assessments, and ongoing performance reviews. Monitor supplier KPIs including quality, delivery performance, responsiveness, and corrective action effectiveness. Support supplier qualification, onboarding, and continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure products and manufacturing processes comply with applicable AWS, ASTM, ASME, AISC, ISO 9001, and building code requirements. Maintain quality documentation, audit records, certifications, inspection reports, and nonconformance records. Coordinate with third-party inspectors and certification agencies as needed. Identify quality risks and implement preventive measures to minimize defects and rework. Responsibility - Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement Lead investigations into nonconformances, supplier issues, field issues, and customer concerns. Facilitate root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions. Analyze quality trends and performance metrics to identify opportunities for process improvement. Drive a culture of accountability, quality ownership, and continuous improvement across the organization and supply base. QualificationsRequired Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Management, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline. 5+ years of experience in quality management, supplier quality, manufacturing quality, or fabrication operations within the steel, construction technology, or industrial manufacturing sectors. Demonstrated experience managing supplier quality programs and driving corrective actions across domestic and international supply chains. Skilled at navigating ambiguity to arrive at clear actionable steps for problem-solving. Strong knowledge of structural steel fabrication processes, welding practices, and inspection methodologies. Exceptional ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and written; able to understand and translate concepts from myriad disciplines for diverse audiences. Strong knowledge of ASME, ASTM, and ISO 9001, and other relevant steel standards. Strong familiarity with American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) and International Building Code (IBC) compliance requirements. Strong knowledge of welding standards and processes (AWSD1.1 / AWSD1.8 preferred). Technically fluent; comfortable collaborating with design engineers, welding inspectors, and fabrication teams to ensure product integrity. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, fabrication drawings, quality plans, and technical specifications. Adept at implementing corrective actions across internal teams, and external suppliers. Strong analytical mindset with a data-driven approach to quality metrics, supplier performance and continuous improvement. Willing and able to travel internationally to audit suppliers and support global partners. Quick learner with high ownership, resilience, and adaptability in dynamic project environments. Skilled in Microsoft Office tools and quality management systems. Preferred Qualifications: Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification Experience with modular construction, prefabrication, or structural steel building systems. Familiarity with cast, forged, machined, and precision-manufactured steel components. Experience interpreting manufacturing drawings and GD&T requirements. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies. Experience supporting regulatory compliance within the construction industry.
