About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Behavioral Health Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active Blue Card CPI Required Certifications: BLS, CPI Must-Have: - Ability to assess patients' mental health status, including recognizing signs of psychiatric disorders, substance use, and behavioral problems. - Developing individualized care plans based on the needs of patients with mental health and behavioral issues. - Administering psychiatric medications and monitoring for side effects or adverse reactions. - Providing immediate, short-term support to patients in crisis, including de-escalation techniques and appropriate medication management. - Building trust and rapport with patients through effective communication skills, active listening, and empathy. Description: Active Blue Card CPI required to submit. Number of beds includes various units. Patient ratios are nurses 8 to 1 and mental health technicians 12 to 1. The unit serves a diverse patient population with varying acuity levels. Documentation system in use is Meditech. Three 12-hour shifts are required each day, seven days a week, including weekends. Days off are not guaranteed unless specified in the contract. Crisis intervention skills are essential. Candidates will be responsible for monitoring patients for physical and psychological symptoms. Nurses wear blue uniforms, and mental health technicians wear green or black. The focus is on delivering high-quality care aligned with core values of integrity, compassion, and respect. AIDET is utilized to ensure effective patient communication.
