Open Rank Faculty Position: Medical-Surgical Nursing

About the Position Open Rank Nursing Faculty Position (Tenure Track or Contract) within the School of Nursing’s pre‑licensure programs. Teaching Responsibilities Annual teaching load: 7 courses for contract faculty, 6 courses for tenure‑track faculty. Courses include Medical‑Surgical Nursing, Fundamentals of Nursing, Complex Care, Nursing Synthesis, Transitions to Professional Nursing, Purpose, Leadership and Action (PLAN) as applicable. Demonstrate commitment to continuous improvement in teaching skills, pedagogy, and inclusion. Provide office hours and support to ensure a positive student learning experience. Support curriculum development and evaluation to meet learning outcomes. Evaluate student achievement of expected outcomes. Service Responsibilities Advising pre‑licensure students. Participate in curriculum development and maintenance. Attend program, department, school, and university meetings, committees, and activities. Contribute to faculty governance and program evaluation. Serve on school and university committees. Scholarly Responsibilities (Tenure‑Track only) Engage in scholarship and publish research advancing nursing and the School’s mission. Participate in professional development. Maintain certifications and licensure. Engage with the broader academic and professional community. Participate in scholarly activities supporting professional development. Grant writing is encouraged (not required). Professional Engagement Responsibilities (Contract) Maintain currency in discipline and licensure. Participate in professional development. Engage in broader academic and professional community. Qualifications / Skills Master’s degree in nursing required; doctoral degree preferred for non‑tenure‑track and required for tenure‑track. At least 5 years of relevant experience preferred. Demonstrated commitment to clinical and academic excellence. Previous college‑level teaching preferred. Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse License in Massachusetts. Ability to work with diverse students and perspectives. Strong communication and creative problem‑solving skills. Terms of Service Boston‑based, 10‑month, full‑time contract (non‑tenure‑track) or tenure‑track position reporting to the Pre‑Licensure Nursing Program Administrator. Balance of teaching load and scholarship per faculty policy. Tenure‑track candidates receive course release for scholarship during the first five years. Salary and Benefits Salary range: $71,670–$98,063 (annual). Benefits eligible, including health benefits and retirement savings.
