Minimum 2+ years recent RN experience required; at least 1 year of recent Med-Surg experience required / CERTIFICATIONS – BLS and ACLS Required / LICENSE – Active RN License Required / Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, 36 hrs/week, 13 weeks (7:00 PM–7:00 AM, every other weekend) / Setting: Critical Access Hospital – ED/Med-Surg Swing Unit / EMR: EPIC / Skills: Emergency nursing, Med-Surg nursing, patient assessment, telemetry monitoring, IV therapy, medication administration, charge nurse responsibilities, emergency stabilization, and care coordination required / Unit Details: 22-bed Critical Access Hospital serving Emergency Department, Acute Care, and Swing Bed patients / Ratios: Acute Care 1:4, Swing Bed 1:6, Emergency Department 1:4 / Common Patient Population: Medical, surgical, emergency, observation, and swing bed patients with varying diagnoses and acuity levels / Drips: Standard titratable and maintenance drips; RNs are required to titrate medications as ordered / RT Equipment: Oxygen therapy, nebulizers, CPAP (when applicable), and ventilator support primarily for ED stabilization and patient transport / Charge Nurse: Charge nurse role available; travelers may be required to work charge as needed / Monitoring: Telemetry monitoring utilized; ED nurses are responsible for independently reading and interpreting cardiac rhythms and telemetry strips / Scheduling: 12-hour shifts (7a–7p and 7p–7a) based on department needs / Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend / Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday / Floating: First to float; may float to ED holds and other patient care areas as needed within scope of practice / Call Requirement: Flex time utilized based on census and staffing needs / Orientation: Facility orientation plus unit-specific orientation provided / Scrubs: Any color scrubs permitted / Additional: Clinical interview followed by auto-offer process. Facility follows a 50-mile radius rule. Candidates cannot have worked as permanent or PRN staff within any CommonSpirit Health facility during the past 12 months. Travelers should be comfortable functioning in both Emergency Department and Med-Surg settings within a rural Critical Access Hospital environment.
