Quality Auditor, Non-Clinical
Remote
At Synapse Health, we're streamlining the durable medical equipment (DME) process. We manage intake, documentation, routing, claims, billing, and patient support. Our model reshapes how DME is delivered and experienced.
Since 2016, with decades of industry and leadership experience, we've delivered tech-based solutions that help our partners to modernize operations, improve coordination, and reduce administrative burdens. By taking on operational and financial complexity, we're redefining how DME works for providers, prescribers, and patients. We are proud to offer work that matters, on a mission that matters.
The Quality Auditor, Non Clinical is a key member of the Quality Management team, reporting directly to the Manager, Quality Management. This role is responsible for executing quality audits and monitoring activities to ensure that Synapse Health's products, services, and processes consistently meet internal quality standards, regulatory requirements, and accreditation guidelines.
The Quality Auditor plays a critical role in protecting patient safety, supporting regulatory compliance, and strengthening the organization's quality infrastructure. Through detailed audits, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration, this role helps identify risk, drive corrective actions, and support continuous improvement initiatives across the DMEPOS environment.
Conduct internal quality audits of DMEPOS products, services, documentation, and workflows to ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, client, and company standards.
Evaluate adherence to internal policies, procedures, and standard operating practices, identifying gaps, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
Document audit findings clearly and accurately; prepare comprehensive audit reports and present results, trends, and recommendations to Quality Management.
Collaborate with cross-functional partners to support corrective and preventive action plans, process improvements, and risk mitigation initiatives.
Provide ongoing feedback to Quality Management and Operations teams to improve DMEPOS processes, documentation accuracy, and product quality.
Assist with the development, enhancement, and delivery of training materials related to quality standards, audit findings, and best practices.
Serve as a subject matter resource for staff questions related to quality processes, audit requirements, and documentation standards.
Support investigations, root cause analyses, and resolution of quality-related issues, including grievances, service delivery concerns, patient safety events, and quality-of-care risks.
Participate in maintaining audit readiness and supporting external surveys, inspections, and accreditation reviews as needed.
High school diploma or equivalent, required.
Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Quality Assurance, or a related field, preferred.
2–3 years of experience in quality auditing, compliance, or quality assurance within a healthcare, DMEPOS, or medical device environment, preferred.
Working knowledge of DMEPOS regulations and industry standards, including CMS guidelines, FDA regulations, ACHC, BOC, and ISO requirements, preferred.
Experience with quality management systems (QMS), audit tools, and data analysis methodologies, preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn department- and role-specific systems and software.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including clear documentation and reporting.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Accountability: Understands how individual audit work directly supports organizational quality, compliance, and patient safety goals.
Integrity: Demonstrates consistent ethical behavior and adherence to professional and regulatory standards.
Influence: Able to partner effectively with cross-functional teams to drive quality improvements without formal authority.
Organization & Prioritization: Effectively assesses urgency and impact, adjusting priorities to support quality and operational needs.
The base salary range for this position is $51,200 – $64,000 annually. This range reflects the anticipated compensation at the time of posting. Final compensation will be based on factors such as relevant experience, demonstrated skills, internal equity, and prevailing market conditions.
