As a Speech Language Pathologist in the welcoming ambiance of Wichita, your expertise will extend beyond the clinical setting; it will empower individuals of all ages to unlock their voice, regain confidence, and foster connections once held back by communication challenges.
This role is particularly special as you will be working with a diverse spectrum of patients—from bright-eyed children embracing their first sounds to resilient seniors who are eager to reclaim their independence. You will blend outpatient therapy services with occasional inpatient responsibilities in a supportive and lively environment.
Role Description
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations across diverse populations including children, adults, and the elderly using both standardized assessments and insightful observation.
- Create individualized treatment strategies that meet immediate needs and pave the way for long-term improvements in communication and swallowing.
- Implement effective speech therapy sessions that focus on enhancing language, ensuring fluency, modifying voice, and addressing swallowing issues.
- Forge strong partnerships with other healthcare professionals such as physical therapists, occupational therapists, and physicians, ensuring a holistic approach to patient care.
- Educate patients and their families to foster continued progress and understanding beyond therapy sessions.
- Participate in inpatient evaluations when necessary, delivering a seamless care experience that supports the entire recovery journey.
- Adhere to documentation protocols that meet the standards set by local and national bodies.
- Keep abreast of the latest developments in speech-language pathology through ongoing education and peer interactions.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is required if ASHA certification is pending.
Certifications Needed
- Must possess a valid Speech Language Pathologist state license.
- ASHA's Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within the first month of employment.
Key Skills
- Proven proficiency in evidence-based treatment for a variety of age groups, along with a deep understanding of both developmental and acquired disorders in speech, language, and swallowing.
- Exceptional communication skills that foster collaboration with patients, their families, and fellow healthcare professionals.
- A strong ability to adjust therapeutic approaches to cater to diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Solid clinical judgement accompanied by adept problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation requirements.
Employee Benefits
- Attractive salary aligned with your experience and skills.
- Flexible work hours to promote balance in personal and professional life.
- Opportunities to specialize in fields such as pediatrics, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatrics.
- Generous vacation and holiday leave.
- Insurance coverage for medical, dental, vision, and life.

A Journey That Moves You Forward
Your role here goes beyond the day-to-day delivery of speech therapy; it's about becoming a part of a larger community-driven endeavor dedicated to the art of communication—enabling individuals to share their stories openly and build connections that matter.
Embrace camaraderie among colleagues who view each other as family within an organization that values cooperation over competition. Every patient has a journey, and we trust you with the vital task of guiding how that journey unfolds.
