About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Pediatric Stepdown Duration: 10 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years required License: Active license required prior to start date Certifications: BLS, PALS Must-Have: - Strongly prefer travel experience - Must float within the scope to meet facility needs - Must have experience with pediatric patient ratios, averaging 1:3 - Must be open to accommodating block schedules Description: These needs are specifically for winter coverage for a 10-week contract only. Local radius restrictions are waived for this assignment. The clinician must start by 12/18/2026. No holidays off. The clinician may not take more than 5 days off during the contract. The schedule will be three 12-hour shifts per week. First-time travelers are accepted, but travel experience is strongly preferred. Weekend work will be required every other weekend. The facility hires clinicians who can meet their specific needs. The unit will focus on cohorting children with respiratory illnesses. The average daily census is 9 patients. The unit diagnoses include general medical patients with respiratory diagnoses. Special procedures may include high-flow nasal cannula and continuous nebulizers. Various interdisciplinary support services are available, including physical therapy and respiratory services. The clinician will be required to administer medications, manage IVs, perform phlebotomy, and provide care for pediatric patients. Additional skills required include infection prevention, patient monitoring, and cooperation with rapid response teams. This position does not require on-call duty. Pre-approved time off can be discussed and arranged within specified guidelines.
