It's no wonder our business and our team are growing.The Fire Sprinkler Service Apprentice to assist experienced Fire Sprinkler Service Technicians with the inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of fire sprinkler systems. This entry-level role is designed for individuals interested in building a career in the fire protection industry through hands-on training, classroom training and mentorship.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with inspection, testing, and servicing of fire sprinkler systemsHelp replace sprinkler heads, valves, gauges, and fittingsSupport troubleshooting of system deficiencies under supervisionLearn to read inspection reports, basic drawings, and service documentationPerform basic pipe cutting, threading, grooving, and hangingMaintain tools, equipment, and job site cleanlinessAccurately complete service paperwork and inspection reports as trainedFollow all OSHA, NFPA, and company safety proceduresProvide professional customer service while on siteWhy You'll BringHigh school diploma or GED preferredMechanical aptitude and willingness to learn a skilled tradeAbility to follow instructions and work as part of a teamReliable transportation and valid driver's license (preferred)Ability to pass background check and drug screeningPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift and carry up to 75 lbsComfortable working on ladders, lifts, and at heightsAbility to work in tight spaces and varying weather conditionsTraining & DevelopmentOn-the-job training with experienced service techniciansExposure to NFP A 13 and NFP A 25 standardsOpportunity to pursue NICET certification and state licensingCareer path toward Service Technician and Lead Technician rolesWork Schedule & EnvironmentFull-time, non-union positionOn-call or after-hours service is requiredCommercial and industrial job siteWhy You'll Love Working HereAt Polk Mechanical, you're more than an employee — you're part of Polk Nation.
