General Summary:

The RRA, under the supervision of the Physician(s) who acts as the collaborative practitioner(s), is responsible for:

Performing a full range of imaging procedures under the appropriate levels of supervision and operating all imaging equipment in assigned department.

Utilizing the knowledge and skills for age-specific factors necessary to perform safe and effective procedures on patients of all ages (neonate/infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatrics).

Willingly learning/adapting to new technologies and protocols and helping develop the knowledge and competency of coworkers and students.

Performing patient assessment pre and post procedure. Utilizing effective questioning strategies, listening and speaking skills, and applying nonverbal communication techniques as appropriate during patient communication.

Utilizing proper positioning criteria and technical exposure factors, performing all required imaging projections for given procedure.

Utilizing two patient identifiers to confirm patient/exam accuracy before administering exam.

Evaluating images for completeness, diagnostic quality and utility, and recommending additional images as required.

Repeating any view that fails to include all required anatomical structures or lacks proper contrast and spatial resolution.

Completing assigned exams in a timely manner.

Keeping workflow coordinator informed of availability and status of all pending exams.

Utilizing PACS equipment.

Confirming proper exam/patient assignment before releasing images to PACS for interpretation.

Operating and maintaining Imaging equipment in a safe manner.

Adhering to all infection control, radiation and MR safety standards.

Properly wearing Dosimetry badge and seeking to minimize radiation exposure.

Assisting with Performance Improvement initiatives while understanding the department performance trends and established standards.

Contributing toward process improvement by serving on PI teams as assigned.

Performing other duties as assigned or directed to ensure the smooth operation of the department.

Schedule is Monday Friday

Campus: AH Riverview

Knowledge and Skills Required:

Knowledge of imaging procedures/positions, anatomy and pathology, and pharmacology [Required]

Ability to determine appropriate technical factors [Required]

Knowledge of radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment [Required]

Must maintain Advent Health medical staff Allied Health privileges in good standing. [Required]

Communicates effectively in English [Required]

Knowledge of PACS and associated equipment [Preferred]

Good organizational skills [Preferred]

Knowledge of CT, MR, ULTRASOUND equipment [Preferred]

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor's [Required]

Master's [Preferred]

Licensure, Certification, and Registration:

Registered Radiology Assistant (RRA(ARRT)) [Required]

Basic Life Support CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]

Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) [Required]
