Nurse Practitioner

Kassouf is recruiting on behalf of a well-established pulmonary and critical care practice in Birmingham, Alabama. This opportunity is ideal for a nurse practitioner who enjoys working in a collaborative critical care environment while maintaining a high degree of autonomy.

The practice is part of a comprehensive, multidisciplinary critical care program providing inpatient ICU coverage with strong physician support and access to outstanding subspecialty resources.

Salary: $105,000-$155,000 annually

Schedule

This position follows a rotating weekly schedule among five providers.

Shift Hours: 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM

Rotation includes:

• 4 days on / 7 days off
• 3 days on / 7 days off
• Occasional 7 days on / 7 days off

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage critically ill ICU patients
• Admit new ICU patients and consults
• Manage acute critical care patients throughout hospitalization
• Participate in code team responses
• Collaborate closely with pulmonary and critical care physicians
• Utilize Cerner and Epic electronic medical records
• Work independently while maintaining access to physician consultation and support as needed

Qualifications

• Current Alabama Nurse Practitioner license or ability to obtain licensure
• Experience with hospital rounding, admissions, and patient discharges
• 1-2 years of intensivist or critical care experience preferred
• Comfortable working autonomously in a fast-paced environment
• Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills
