Description The Concrete Finisher smooths and finishes surfaces of poured concrete, such as floors, walks, sidewalks, and curing concrete to high-quality standards while working efficiently in a team environment. Prepare work areas to maintain a safe and efficient job site. Set forms to hold concrete to desired pitch and depth. Spread, level, and smooth concrete, using rake, shovel, hand or power trowel, hand or power screed, and float. Mold expansion joints and edges, using edging tools, jointers, and straightedge. Apply hardening and sealing compounds to cure surface of concrete, and waterproof or restore surface. Install anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills, and other fixtures in freshly poured concrete or pattern or stamp the surface to provide decorative finish. Waterproof or restore concrete surfaces, using appropriate compounds. Adhere to and maintain compliance with established systems, policies, and procedures. Keep supervisor informed of progress, issues, and successes. Identify, recommend, and implement opportunities for continuous performance and process improvements. Requirements Highschool diploma or GED preferred. A minimum of 1-2 years concrete finishing experience required, or a combination of education and experience(flatwork preferred). Ability to effectively use technology (mobile phone, computer, email). Must have a current and valid driver’s license in good standing. Reliable transportation to job sites Ability to obtain DOT certification required. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Ability to read and interpret documents, including but not limited to safety regulations, blueprints, policy and procedure manuals. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to use tape measures, inspection equipment, hand, and power tools. Demonstrated sound judgement, problem solving and decision-making in emotional, difficult, and stressful situations. Strong customer service (internal and external) focus. Commitment to safety Remote Work Eligibility This position is not remote eligible. Physical Demands The employee is regularly required to sit, stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and lift and/or move 100 pounds or more with assistance. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, touch objects, tools or controls and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee is occasionally required to work extended hours. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration, heat, cold and stress. Work is done outdoors, so employee must dress for conditions. The noise level in the work environment is moderate.
