Desired Qualifications:
- Two years of college credits from an accredited institution, OR an associate degree or higher, OR a passing score on an approved formal academic assessment (ParaPro, ParaPathways, The Master Teacher), OR demonstration of competencies per the MDE approved grid
- PCA certificate (or willingness to obtain one; free and completed in under an hour)
- At least one year of experience working with school-aged children in a professional capacity
- Preferred: Over two years of paraprofessional experience in a school-based setting
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support to students in a high-needs classroom, assisting with academic tasks and classroom activities
- Collaborate closely with teachers and special education staff to implement individualized learning plans
- Foster a positive and supportive learning environment, adapting strategies to meet student needs
- Assist with behavior management, personal care, and mobility support as necessary
- Document and communicate student progress and observations to the educational team
