Electrical Supervisor

TheElectrical Supervisorwill maintain the facility in both safety and machinery; follow up with all issues in a timely manner; be able to work well with all members of management and act accordingly. The Electrical Supervisor will be in constant communication with the area managers about issues or needs and prioritize them to fit the needs of the company.The successful candidate will have excellent organizational skills, be self-directed, and be confident in their decision-making abilities.Duties and ResponsibilitiesCapable of supporting troubleshooting & observations of machine centers with shift supervisors and other support staff to ensure production and quality standards are metManaging the department cost in an aggressive manner assuring optimum manufacturing unit cost; develop and educate key metricsSafety of the crew (Lock-Out Procedures, assisting with and verifying Field Level Risk Assessments (FLRA), Safety Audits)Perform and maintain counseling and coaching sessions along with performance evaluations for each direct reportSchedule and assign daily tasksWork closely with the mill Planner to schedule electrical maintenance for the plant and set up and maintain a preventative maintenance plan.Support production & maintenance to ensure a quality panel is produced while maintaining a competitive cost.Supervise a team of electricians on a daily basis; perform evaluations, counseling and coaching sessions as needed for each member.Other duties as required / assignedQualificationsBS Degree with 5+ years of manufacturing experience or 10 years of manufacturing management experience; or equivalent combination of training and experienceBackground in Electrical fundamentalsMust have knowledge in 3 phase and single-phase power distribution systems, motor controls, wiring, and troubleshooting of such systems.Experience with 480-volt power and logic circuits; Experience working with high and low voltagesStrong computer, math, analytical, and planning skillsMust be able to understand and follow electrical schematics proficiently without supervisionFamiliar with Allen Bradley products, VFD Drives, Soft Starters, and HMI’sExperience with PLC 5 and Control Logix Plc platformsExperience with communication network protocols: ethernet, DeviceNet, ControlNetFamiliar with machine control systems; ability to troubleshoot issuesIdentify the features and functions of controllersDescribe and compare pneumatic and electronic controllersIdentify the signal path through a control circuitWilling and able to work on an emergency call-in basis when requiredMust be self-motivated, honest and have high ethical standardsPossess strong team building, communication, analytical and critical thinking skillsProficiency in use of personal computers and MS Office Suite are requiredIs willing to work flexible hours based on business needsOur highly competitive compensation package and outstanding benefits include:Benefits starting Day 1Competitive starting payOn-the-job training and aA culture that strongly believes in promoting from withinMedicalDental401k with company matchLife InsuranceDisability InsurancePaid vacations and holidaysApply:If you are ready to build your career in a company that thrives on growth, a safe work environment, rewarding work, challenge, and opportunity, come build your career with us at West Fraser:West Fraser is a diversified North American wood products company producing southern yellow pine lumber and wood chips across the Southern US and Western Canada.
