About the Position

Job Opportunity – Critical Care Float Pool RN – Ohio

Start Date: October 5, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 3x12 hour shifts, night shift rotation with flexibility to meet unit needs; minimum every other weekend requirement

Highlights:

• Float across multiple critical care units including Neuro ICU, Surgical ICU, Medical ICU, CVICU, and Cardiology/Diagnostics based on staffing needs and patient acuity
• Float assignments limited to units of equivalent or lower acuity only
• EPIC charting system utilized throughout facility
• Contract must extend through January 2, 2027
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, physical therapy, and radiology
• Exposure to advanced critical care including transplant patients (kidney, liver, lung, heart)

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records required
• Valid RN license (compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• Demonstrated competency in IV starts, telemetry monitoring, and ventilator management
• Previous travel nursing experience strongly preferred
• Skills in arterial line management, central line care, blood product administration, vasoactive drip titration, and management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction
• Experience with specialized equipment including temporary pacers, external ventricular drains (EVD), continuous IV sedation/paralytics, and pulmonary artery catheters preferred
• Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• 2 professional references required (at least 1 from formal leadership/management)
• Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only)
