Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown (Neuroscience/High-Risk Respiratory)Dayton, OH | Intermediate Care / StepdownContract (13- or 18-week options available) | Nights | 4×12-Hour Shifts | 19:00–07:30 | OnsiteKey ResponsibilitiesProvide professional skilled nursing care to a diverse intermediate care patient population, including patients with cerebrovascular accident (CVA), transient ischemic attack (TIA), seizures, and other neurological conditions.Operate within a mixed-acuity unit (medical-surgical/intermediate care) that may function as a high-risk respiratory unit; care for patients requiring heated high-flow oxygen and BiPAP support.Participate in a team nursing model where RNs, LPNs, and PCTs partner together to care for a group of patients, dividing workload to improve patient outcomes; may also function in a primary nursing model depending on unit needs.Maintain targeted patient ratios of 1:4–6; prior documented 1:5 ratio experience in SD or PCU is required and must be reflected in work history.Float within specialty clusters as directed, which may include other campuses within a 15-mile radius of the main campus, including high-risk respiratory and COVID units.Complete and pass an online EKG/telemetry competency assessment and required lab work within 72 hours of contract signing.Required QualificationsActive RN license (any active state license or compact license accepted).Documented SD or PCU experience with 1:5 patient ratio reflected in work history — ICU experience does not substitute for SD/PCU experience at this facility.Ventilator experience required.BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIH Stroke Scale certification required.Proficiency with Epic EMR required.Availability to work every other weekend and every other holiday.Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local travelers are not accepted.Preferred Experience / SkillsPrior travel nursing experience preferred.IV start certification preferred.Experience with heated high-flow oxygen therapy and BiPAP management.Comfort with floating to various units, including neurology ICU, based on skill set and census needs.Why Join UsOpportunity to work in a dynamic neuroscience and high-risk respiratory environment with a collaborative team nursing model designed to improve both workload and patient care quality.Flexible contract length options (13 or 18 weeks) available, offering adaptability for travel nursing professionals seeking winter contract opportunities.
